The first big metal festival in Slovenia was held in Tolmin,which was close to the boundary with Italy.I was really excited going there,as it would be the first time to visit to Slovenia,and besides I'd never seen any festivals which were held as a first time.
I got to the nearest station in a day before the festival's date,but quite a lot of audiences were on the same train as well.It seemed many of them came from other European countries,because of the Slovenian location which was surrounded by some countries.I shared a taxi with a German and an Austrian guys to Tolmin.It was fine at that time,but a taxi driver said it would be raining later.
I put my stuff in the Hotel KRN where I was staying while the festival was held,and went out to work around there.My room there was a twin room although I was staying by myself, as only the room was vacancy,and it cost €39 per night.It was good access to the festival site as it took about just 10-15 minutes by foot,and besides close to some facilities such as shops and a cash machine.I found also another pension which was called Pension Rutar around there.Many audiences had already started camping in spite of a day before the festival date,then I expected to see the first festival from the next day,and also swimming in a river

The river I saw on the train to the nearest station was much clear,and I was surprised by the transparency

At the first day of the festival,I left the hotel about 15:00 without having an unmrella.However,soon after I went out,it started raining,so I hastily brought it from a room.More walking to the festival site,more raining heavier,and finally it became the rainstorm

I couldn't help having a rest in a pub which was on the way,then drinking with some Slovenian metallers,I was waiting for the stop rainstorming.After that,it wasn't raining for a while,so I was walking around the beach stage.It was cloudy,but still quite warm,so some audiences were even swimming then,I thought I'd wear a swim suite next day as well.There was a big puddle in front of the main stage because of the water spout. However,some metalheads were excited without caring their clothes when Brainstorm was playing

The audience needed to get the vouchers which were instead of using cash at the festival site,and then not only Slovenian Tollers but also Euros were available.I could get food and drinks by them,but I'm not sure about merchandise though...
The weather was getting to be worse in the night again,but it wasn't raining while Fintroll was playing.They were really popular,and audiences were dancing with Finish porka metal

As soon as they finished playing,it started raining in buckets

When Hypocrisy started to play it stopped raining briefly,but it began later again.However,the audience still kept running their feeling over the festival highly

I was hungry about the end of Danzig's gig,but food stands had already been closed,but it may have been because of the bad weather though... So,I couldn't help just drinking beer.
There weren't really outdoor lights on the street to the hotel,but hearing the murmur of a stream and hoping the good weather in the next day, I got to the hotel.

At the second day,the running order was vastly changed at the main stage because of some reasons.Firstly,cancellation of Dark Funeral was announced.I didn't know why it was cancelled at that time,but I found it was because of a trouble about their flight tickets with an airline on their official website. Moreover,some bands had played in another festival in the previous day,so it seemed they couldn't get to Slovenia in time,and besides the weather was even worse

So,only the beginning, the first band was playing on schedule,but Fleshcrawl appeared as the second band although they should have been the third.After all,Green Carnation didn't play,and besides the festival was interrupted for a while after Fleshcrawl's gig because of driving rain. I wanted to see the beach stage as well,but eventually I couldn't,and I gave up to take pictures because of the dreadful weather...

After the interruption,Ektomorf started playing.In spite of after heavy shower,the audience was back to in front of the main stage enthusiastically again

When it was getting to dark, Apocalyptica started their gig.It was the first time to see them,as I didn't really have any opportunities to see that kind of band,but their play was marvelous! They were playing numbers of Metalica's songs with clasical arrangement,and the audience were singing together

After all,Katatonia which should have played around 19:00 appeared after midnight.The ground was completely mud,and it was chilly,but drinking,the audience was still enjoying the gigs excitingly.

The next day of the festival,it was really fine as if it hadn't been raining. The beautiful landscape of the river was back,so I wished it had been like that when the festival was held...
Anyway the weather matter was really unfortunate,even though it was the first big metal festival in Slovenia,but I enjoeyed seeing and talking to a lot of metalheads there.Thanx Tolmin
