24th (wed) "Bombs&pitchforks" at Garage
This festival was held as the 6th year, and it was the first time to go there but I'd heard about it since before though. As a festival promoter refered to on its official website, all tickets for both venues had been sold out.

We were staying in a budget hotel called Crowded house which was on the same street as the venue, and it took just a few minutes by foot. So,of course some other audiences were staing there as well
A pub was on the first floor at Garage, and we were able to come and go both the pub and the venue at the basement during the night.Looking around there and talking people,we saw
Bömbers' gig. A vocalist of this band was Abath who was ex-Immortal.I heard it was a Motorhead tribute band, and expected to see it as it wouldn't be many chances to see their gig.His appearance was unexpectedly similar to Lemmy, including his voice,so I enjoyed his another side.
Tom Angelripper who was a vocalist&a bassist of
Sodom that would play at the following day appeared about the end of Bömbers' gig, then he sang a song together with them.

25th (Thu) "Sodom&Gomorrah" at Garage
The gig this day should have had one more band called
Sahg, but unfortunately it was cancelled due to the member's illness. So, the first band started to play 30minutes later than the time schedule.

A Norwegian black metal horde
Ragnarok started to play 10 minutes earlier than the planed time table. The audience gained in front of the stage, showing their enthusiasm It was the first time to see their gig in their home country,so it was quite fresh to hear their MC in Norwegian

Blood Red Throne appeared as a next band on the stage.Firstly we recognized a vocalist and a drummer had changed. The new vocalist was well to look at ,and went with the band. A bassist wore a shirt that was quite unusual as a member in a death metal band on the stage,so we were quite impressed

When Sodom played as the last band at that night, the venue was filled by a lot of audiences, and festival feeling reached a peak.
The pub that was upstairs of the venue was full of the audience after the gig, then a party continued....

26th (Fri) "Ghosts&Fire" at USF Verftet
The venue
moved from Garage to USF Verftet from this night. It was along the sea and had much bigger space.
After
High on fire warmed the audience enough,it was a Gehenna's turn to play their gig.But as soon as they started to play their first song,a guitarist standing on the right side from the audience fell down on the stage Then a vocalist run up to him right away, and unfortunately their gig stopped. According to their official website, the guitarist was suffered from epilepsy.

High On Fire

Gehennna had to stop their play because of a sudden unfortunate accident, but the time schedule went on as the plan.
Enslaved was so popular to the audience, and a lot of photographers queued to the photo pit They performed dynamically, then the audience responded showing their excitement.

When Anathema started their playing, feeling in the venue turned to atmospheric. It was the first gig in Norway for them,so a vocalist stated that they would play at least a song from their each album. They don't really tour and it's quite difficult to see their gigs even in the UK,so we were lucky to be there.

Greeted by the eager audience,Opeth showed up on the stage as the last band at that night. It seemed they played heavier songs than usual together with their masterpieces,so following their expression the audience reacted lively
There were a few lights on the way around the venue when we left there,so only screaming from drunk audience echoed in the darkness...

27th (Fri) "Tombs&Endings" at USF Verftet
Finally, it was the last night at the festival.
Most festivals we'd been to were held maximum for 3days,so we thought it would be the long gigs, but the time past really quickly and we didn't feel it was the final day in the festival.

Tsjuder played as the first band at that night. They're a Norwegian trio-black metal band, but they showed really powerful performance which made us feel there'd be more numbers of the members.

Looking around the venue,a lot of merchandise and goods were sold in a bar-area. We wanted to get the girly-sized festival memorial T-shirts,but they had been sold out But we got the Taake camisole though

Taake that we awaited for appeared on the stage around 20:00. It was so precious to see,as they didn't really play their gigs even in Norway.A vocalist Høst is a singer in Ragnarok as well,so he showed up twice in the festival this year. Their performance was fabulous, and we need to get their CDs....

The next band was one of my favorite bands Behemoth. The line up of this band settled in altogether, and had great combination. They've toured in a lot of countries these years, besides their shows have powered up and cooler. So I can't stop being disappointed that their gig in September in Oslo has been cancelled

Remaining the excitement among the audience,American death metalers Nile started their playing.A guitarist Dallas has combined as a main vocalist, and a new bassist has joined since a former one left the band. It seemed the young star who was the new bassist got used be in the band more, but he'd played quite magnificently since his first tour though.

Obituary played as the final band at this festival. The audience showed their last energy as they must have been tired(?)
It wasn't an open-air festival,so we didn't need to pack away a tent after the last gig. It was a Saturday night,so the city was full of people, including tourists and metallers

We went to Bergen for the first time,so enjoyed not only the festival but also sightseeing.Going to the fjord,Fløyen, eating sushi as fish is popular there. And the festival was really international,as we saw some people from other countries like Canada and Mexico.

I really recommend to go to this festival,as your visit with sightseeing in Bergen But,don't forget to bring your umbrella, as it rained at least once in a day while we stayed there
